Adjusting to Change
Published on Jan 9th, 2007 in School Life with

I haven’t blogged for quite some time, so I decided to get back into the swing of things.
School went back in as of Monday and all ready I wish I was back at home. It’s not that I don’t like school, because I do! I enjoy learning new things and the challenges that come with learning new things. I enjoy hanging out with my friends and signing up for different sports teams, but every since my homeroom teacher switched to the job of vice principle and we got a new teacher, it’s been h*ll.
I usually always get along with my teachers with a few exceptions, but she is impossible to even crack a joke with. I do realize that different teachers have different expectations, but so do us students.
Maybe I should give her a chance. Maybe I shouldn’t assume the worst and that we’ll never get along. It’s only been two days. If I give it time, I’ll get use to her and so will the other 43 students.
Hey, nice looking site! Your Mom sent me over to say hi - so ‘hi’ from the opposite side of the country - beautiful british columbia!
Hi DragonBoy - I found your blog from your moms place and she said that you would do chores for comments. If you are anything like I was at your age you do your chores anyway but it was always fun to tease your mom with deals!
Teachers teach all sorts of stuff to us - funny as I look back now it was the teachers that at the time I did not really like to much that taught me the most about life - not just book life but real life.
I ay give her a chance - you may be shocked later.
You have 43 kids in your class! HOLY CR*P. Maybe your teacher is just stressed out 43 kids is a lot of kids to deal with…may be make his/her adjustment a bit easier…
Yeah hopefully things will get better the first 2 days might not be an indication of what will happen the rest of the year
Having been on both sides of that, as well as student as a teacher, I can tell you that no matter what you do in this world, you will enver be able to please everybody. You can bend over backwards, and there will still be people that don’t like you or don’t get along with you just for the heck of it.
if you try to get along with her, it’s fine. Just don’t go on too many compromises, or she’ll run you over and still not like you.
PS. Don’t tell your mum I said that!
Any teenager who likes his mother enough to go for walks with her (or link to her blog) is a kid teachers should value. I hope things improve with the teacher, but some people just aren’t very well suited to the line of work they choose…
Great that you have returned to blogging and will be developing and sharing your art and writing.
Dude, you seem like the kind of person who would ask for a blender for Christmas.
Yes, give your teacher a chance. Two days is nothing dude. It took me about a year to warm up to my yoga teacher but now she’s one of my and my wife’s dearest friends.
Best of luck in school. Now please do a chore for your mom.
Neat site mate. Happy blogging..
D
Cool blog dragonboy. And very good article about cyber bullying. I’d like to make some comments on that and link to it in my own blog if you don’t mind.
Try not to sweat the new teacher too much, just chalk it up to experience. Youi’ll deal with difficult people your entire life in one capacity or another, everybody does. Some people are just more difficult to engage than others and you never know where a person is really coming from. They’ll surprise you sometimes. Words of wisdom from an old dude.
Hey, thanks for stopping by today. Just get yourself a good pancake mix and have the teflon pan nice and hot!
Change is tough, no doubt about it. I don’t like it and I’m way older than you! But the good advice above is to give her a chance and don’t be one of the ones who give her a hard time!
Come back and visit! You sound like a neat kid.
Hi Dragonboy,
Nice site! Your smart like your mom.
Thanks for stopping by our dog house!
43 students is a lot in a class it seems, so perhaps after she gets over the shock of so many she’ll loosen up a bit. Good luck with your year, I’m sure you’ll make the best of it.

Great site Dragonboy,
I love your artwork, and the previous comments are right. Give your teacher a chance, she may come around — I hope.
It is odd though, I had a dream last night that I was back in school after Christmas break and I couldn’t remember the combination for my locker and I coudln’t get at my books.
BTW - I’m 33…and I haven’t been in school for 15 years.
Great site and I know exactly what you mean.
I just got a new hometeacher 3 months ago and I couldn’t get along with her at all. But now she’s cool if you give your home teacher a chance it’ll all be okey
