<description>My Son, we all have been where you are. Before you start sulking and talking behind his back, remember that every school has its cliques.

While you may not be able to tolerate him, deep down inside you may even envy or resent him. He dated the girl that you liked. You are most likely thinking, what does he have that I don't.

Son, think of the other kids in your class that have it worse than you. Maybe they wish that they were you. You are a straight a student, you have two parents who love you and you are on the basket ball team, student counsel and in the school musical.

What about the IEP students in your class or the ones whose parents neglect them. Put yourself in their shoes for just a moment.

Everyone one is different. You don’t need to like him but you do need to accept him and respect him.

Though this boy might be popular, you’ve already said that he is shallow and mean to others. Don’t stoop to his level by being mean to him.

Never put down someone or never think that you are above someone.

It’s important to remember that no matter how good you are at something, someone will wish that they were as good as you, think that they are good as you or will be better at it than you.

Things in class could be worse than they really are. School is difficult enough; don’t make it harder. Just relax, you’ll eventually learn who your true friends are.
